Some design decisions can be made entirely on the basis of good technology, and good business practices...  but other aspects are more nuanced and require additional design discovery tools. This is where user personas come into the picture.  The ability to identify and leverage nuances in user needs is a critical skill. The most disruptive products and services in the industry are winning because they are meeting end-users' needs with a clearer picture of their intent and motivation. Uber, Lyft, Amazon, Netflix, Google - what you want, when you want it, with the lowest level of effort.

This session will provide an overview of user research, persona definition, and how to use it as a design tool - and if time allows, a brief workshop to put it into practice.
